Down Payment Assistance If you have dreamed of owning your own home but felt like it was out of your reach – you CAN do it! TCAC developed their homeownership assistance program to address the challenges that low-to-moderate income households may encounter to enable dreams to come true. Funds are available to help qualified first-time homebuyers towards purchasing their home — you may be eligible to receive $1,000—$14,999 as needed to qualify for and secure affordable mortgage financing! Funds can be used for closing costs, principal reduction, or down payment. TCAC staff will work with you with each step along the way, helping you to reach your goals. We will help you find the right house, at the right price, at the right time! Homebuyer Education is an important part of and included in the process to help you make informed decisions along the way. If your credit history might not look so great, help is available for financial coaching, budgeting, and credit history repair to move you closer to achieving your goals. Did you know that most households pay more for monthly rent than a house payment would be? Homeownership is the #1 way to acquire wealth. Homes are eligible for down payment assistance in the following counties: Claiborne, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson & Cocke.
